“TIES” WEATHER REPORT

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night,
A depression is crossing the Dominion to-day and it is being followed by a secondary across the Tasman Sea. An anti-cyclone is still centred north of New Zealand and another one is now located over eastern Australia.
Winds: Northerly to westerly predominating, strong and squally in parts of the Cook and Foveaux Straits areas but otherwise mainly moderate, backing at times to south-westerly in many places. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough about Cook and Foveaux Straits and on parts of tho West Coast south of Capo Egmont, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Winds between west and south-west prevailing but later backing again to north-west strong at times with rather rough seas in the northern portion but otherwise moderate with slight to moderate seas. Weather: Alainly fair in eastern coastal areas, otherwise cloudy to overcast and with rain at times but more especially in districts with a westerly aspect, improving during to-morrow in most parts. Temperatures cool to moderate.
