Drunk in Charge
FINE AND CANCELLATION

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night,
A fine of £SO and the cancellation of his license for two years was imposed by Mr. E. C. Levvcy, S.M., to-day on Robert Alexander Johnston, a carrier, on a charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-truck. Johnston pleadod not guilty. The evidence showed that his truck levelled a well-lit concrete safety zone, and that he was under tho influence of liquor when examined at the police station. The defence was that Johnston was suffering from concussion as a result of the smash, which had been caused by bad visibility.
