Terrace End Ballast Pit

CITY COUNCIL NOT A PURCHASER.

On tho recommendation of its reserves committee, the City Council decided last night that a communication from tho Minister of Railways addressed to the member for the district in regard to the ballast pit at Terrace End and offering the southern portion of the pit for sale for the sum of £lO on condition that the department retains the right to lay sidings on this land for the purpose of access to the working area, be received, and no further action be taken on account of the expenso involved, and that tho terrace End Progressive Association be advised accordingly.
