Tubercular-free Milk Supply
COMMUNICATIONS BEFORE CITY COUNCIL. “That this meeting representative of the Plunket Society and other women’s organisations, recognising that a tuber-cular-free milk supply is essential in the interests of human health, strongly urges upon the Palmerston North City Council the desirability of immediately introducing oy-iaws framed upon similar lines to those recently enforced by tho Napier municipality whereby it will be rendered an offence to supply milk or cream for human consumption except from cows which have been tubercular tested and certified free from this disease. ’ ’
This was a resolution, forwarded by the Plunket Society, which came before last night’s meeting of the City Council.
On the motion of the Mayor (Mr. A. E. Mansford) tho matter was referred to the by-laws committee. A communication from tho Railway Qincers’ Institute requesting that steps bo taken to combat T.B. infected milk being supplied in Palmerston North, was, on the recommendation of the works committee, also referred to the by-laws committee.
