"Prom a preliminary survey I made in England years ago,” he said, “I expect to lind oil under a largo area of Hampshire, Sussex and in the neighbourhood of Plymouth. And gold should be found in Wales and Cheshire and around Warrington and Great Budworth.’^ Tho British Government, impressed by the reputation which has preceded him, has invited the professor to submit a report on his-methods. Professor Herzog believes ho may bo of use to the British Army in Palestine, where the operations in the interior are hampered by lack of water, Whitehall is sufficiently interested to give him a hearing. His success during the war when he was official water finder for tho Austrian Army, has influenced tons official’ departure from the conventional to the novel exploration of possibilities.
