Dannevirke Oddfellows
BEAT WAIRARAPA TOR QUIGLEY SHIELD. The visit to Dannevirke at tho weekend of members of tho Mastertou, Eketahuna and Greytown Oddfellows was greatly enjoyed, about 25 in all making the trip. Tho football match i'or ,the Quigley Shield proved an excellent contest and the game resulted in favour of the Dannevirko team by 14 points to 5, thus Loyal Dannevirke Lodge will hold the shield for a further 12 months. Bro. Les. Anderson controlled the game. There wero a good many spectators and a collection was taken up for the Otaki Health Camp, this being arranged by Bro. T. Moir. The visitors wero subsequently entertained at dinner.
The committee of the Loyal Dannevirkc Lodge arranged for a social evening in the Oddfellows' 1 Ilall and all had a most enjoyable time. The music Was supplied by Sister Lidingtou. The visitors had a very happy firne ou Sunday morning and before they left for homo were entertained at afternoon tea and many expressions of goodwill were exchanged. Bro. Eippon, of Loyal Masterton Lodge, and Bro. Quigley, of Loyal Dannevirke Lodge, made special reference to tiio visit, stating that fraternal visits between various lodges were much to be desired. Bro. Willingham, financial secretary of the Loyal Eketahuna Lodge, invited members of Loyal Bannevirke Lodge to visit Eketahuna at the earliest opportunity. Cordial thanks were extended to Bro. p. N. Hudson and his sub-committee which mado such complete arrangements for the visit.
