Feilding Friendly Societies

FORESTERS’ LODGE EVENING.

The Foresters’ Lodge dance and card evening held on Saturday attracted a good attendance. Mesdames Gillard and Feakins were the winners of tho ladies’ section in tho euchre, and Messrs B. Allerby, J. Evans and O’Reilly in tho men’s. At the conclusion of the cards, a dainty supper was served by the ladies’ committee, after which a dance was held, Mr 11. B-atten being M.C. Music was supplied by Feeney’s orchestra, which featured popular numbers. Mr R. Woodman -was successful in a special competition, while Mr Smith and partner won the monte carlo waltz.

KOWIIAI REBEKAII LODGE,

The quarterly meeting of Kowhai Rebekah Lodge was presided over by the Noble Grand, Sister E. Bray. At tbe conclusion of the meeting, the challenge previously received from Forester’s, Cruit Loyal, Feilding, was played for, and resulted in a win for Kowhai.

After supper Brother Gillard, eaptain of the Foresters’ team, thanked the captain of Kowhai’s team, Sister Fidler and sisters for the happy and enjoyable evening spent by all, Sister Fidler suitably replying.
