DE. K DEAN, THE SPEAKER.
At the meeting of the Women’s Round Table Club held hi the Y.W.C.A. club-rooms last evening, Miss C. Fitzgerald presided and welcomed tho visitors.
Current events were ably dealt with by Mr M. Walker, who made reference to developments iu New Zealand, the situation in Spain, concluding with a comprehensive survey of the adoption of managed currency by the gold bloc countries.
The speaker for the evening was Dr. Kenriek Dean, who gave a thoughl-pro-voking address on “The New Morality.” At the outset Dr. Dean spoko of the old morality, which had produced creatures of behaviour through patterns of conduct being based on disposition and not an expression of the real self. Ho went on to show that the task ot' tho new morality was to let tho individual know he had a true self or ogo and to separate all that was false in his disposition. Tho real self wanted to grow into usefulness which should bring a feeling of joy. It would bo necessary to build up a new pattern of behaviour expressive of the true personality, with ever-increasing maximations, thus making a contribution to the world in general'.
The address brought animated discussion at the conclusion, the vote of thanks being conveyed by Miss Grant.
