Obituary
MBS. J. E. FULTON.
A great many friends will regret to learn of the death of Mrs Charlotte Fredericka Fulton, widow of tho lato Mr J. E. Fulton, M. Inst. C.E., who was at one time president of tho New Zealand Soeioty of Civil Engineers. Mrs Fulton died on Saturday at her residence, Grant road, at tho age of 82 yoars. She had an only daughter, Mrs Frank Ilorton, with whom much sympathy will be felt in hor bereavement.
Mrs Fulton, who was a very accomplished woman, was tho daughter of the late Major Frederick Budd, of the Royal Marino Light Infantry. About 55 years ago she was engaged by Russian Royalty to teach English to their families, and had much that was interesting to tell about tho Russian nobility in their “palmy days” before tho terrible days of the revolution. Mrs Fulton was one of the kindliest of people, and had a great many friends among the older and well-known Wellington citizens, and was always regarded with great respect and affection. She represented adequately a generation of gentlewomen who earned the affection and admiration given to high ideals and beautiful lives. Mrs Fultou was an aunt of Miss C. Warburton and Mrs E. Abraham, of Palmerston North. After a service held at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral the funeral took place yesterday afternoon.
