Fire in Invercargill Drapery Store

DAMAGE AMOUNTS TO £2000.Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. A fire broke out in the ceiling of Thomson and Beattie’s drapery emporium at 5 o’clock this evening and gave the brigade considerable trouble beforo it was extinguished. The ceiling towards tho front of the shop was blazing when tho brigade arrived and difficulty was experienced in getting to the seat of the fire. Before the outbreak was under control about £2OOO worth of damage was done to the stock mainly by smoke and water.
