Two Taxis Commandeered
IMPUDENT WORK OP REVELLERS. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. Mystery surrounds tho removal of two taxis from tho Red Baud rink in Dee street about half-past four this morning. While two drivers on the late shift slept soundly in tho office some persons took charge of one of the taxis and drove quietiy away. It is known that about that hour a Red Band taxi crashed into a hedge in Duke street and a man and woman were seen to leave it. Later a second taxi was removed from the rink. At least that is what one of the drivers believes as he discovered it backed into the kerb with all the lights cm not far from the rink The first car had also been returned damaged. The police theory is that revellers commandeered the first car and after the accident in Duke street coolly returned to the rink and removed tho second car in order to tow the first one.
