Dannevirke Burglaries

SIXTY-FIVE CHARGES

No fewer than 65 informations have been laid against two men who were recently arrested in connection with a scries of burglaries committed in Daunovirkc and surrounding districts over the past five or six years. The charges will be heard at a sitting to be held in Dannevirke on October 15 and 16. At the present time the office of the officer-in-chargc of the Dannevirke police station resembles a second-hand dealer’s shop, for there is displayed a vast quantity of stolen property from various residences in the district, much of which is waiting to be identified. The police would be grateful if residents who have had their premises entered during tho past five or six years, and who havo not already done so, would call at the station in order to identify tho recovered property.
