Women's Christian Temperance Union

MONTHLY MEETING-. The monthly meeting of the Pahiatua Women’s Christian Temperance Union ■was held in St. Paul’s Schoolroom on Friday afternoon. Mrs. C. M. Roberts presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs. H. Paterson and Mrs. K. L. Warren. After the usual business had been conducted Mrs. Roberts gave a report of the district convention,held recently in Palmerston North and attended by Mesdames Roberts, Paterson and Ogg, and Miss Gardner. It was decided to commence the meetings at 2.30 p.m. in the future. Arrangements were made for the final Band of Hopo meeting for the year, to be held next week. A collection for the Maori fund was taken up. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Willis and Mrs. Ryan.
