Rifleman J. beano made a possible at the boo yards and a 113 at the 500 yards to top the day's snoot. S. J. Brookle with 33 ai 500 yards also made a good effort, marksmen had to contend with a strong rear fishtail wind and a bad changing light. Detailed scores were as follow: Riflemen J. Match with Aokautere, A team of the Ashhurst Defence Rifle Club members journeyed to Aokautere on Wednesday night last, to try conclusions with the Aokautere Miniature Ciub. Aokautere proved too good for Ashhurst winning the evening’s shoot by a good margin. Ashhurst were successful in the combined long range and miniature match, the totals being: Ashhurst, .303, 254; .22, 531.; total, 755; Aokautere,, .303, 234; .22, 530; total 7G4. Greer Shield Shoot, Great interest Is being displayed this year in the coming competition of teams for the Greer Shield, which is competed for by all clubs in the lianawatu-Po-hangina district. The groat improvement in the class of ammunition issued has done a great deal to revive interest In rifle shooting circles. The executive of the llanawatu-Pohangina Rifle Association have arrangements well in hand for the event. Personal and General. The friends of Mrs. J. Fox will be pleased to hear that she is again home from hospital. The Ashhurst Dairy Factory, a landmark for many years locally,’ is fast disappearing, being at present In the hands of the wreckers, who are dismantling the buildngs piecemeal. .
