Conditioning British Army Recruits

BIG INCREASE IN APPLICANTS United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph.—C jpyright. Received Sunday, 8.10 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 12,

The army authorities experimentally selected thirty rejected recruits for a special conditioning ” course at the army physical training school at Aidershot. If at the end of tho course they have reached tho necessary standard they will be allowed 'to ennst in any regiment they choose. If the experiment is successful it will be extended.

During tho flvo months April to August, 1936, the intake of recruits into tho territorial army was 20,052 compared with 12,526 during the same period last year, aa increase of 60.3 per cent.
