Five convicts strangled a warder and reaped from prison into ' Switzerland where three were arrested without resistance at Feterne.
Tiio ringleader unscrewed the lock of his cell door, knocked out tne warder, took the keys and released three fellow convicts who like himself were serving life sentences for attempted murder of a woman tobacconist. The warder recovered and tried to raise the alarm but the convicts choked him with a leather strap and went to the common cell and released one of the ten prisoners. They then scaled the walls and escaped by motor-car and motor-cycle across the Swiss frontier. The police stopped and arrested three and are still searching for the missing pair.
