Queen Candidates Presented

On (Saturday night at the Mayfair, Regent and (State Theatres, the Mayor (Mr. A. E. Mansford) presented the tjueen candidates to tho audience. Miss Kona Boland (Rugby Union) was indisposed and unable to be present. In introducing Miss L. Alsopp (Garrison Band) aud Mrs. iS. New (Hockey Association), the Mayor said that the three ladies in consenting to become candidates for the Carnival realised the fact that they would have to give up a good deal of time in helping the committee they represented. After explaining to tho audience what the respective clubs intended doing with tho money raised by the combined effort, tho Mayor asked the audience to give their wholehearted support.
