From Our Own Correspondent Methodist Anniversary. The anniversary services of the MethoJist Church wero held on Sunday last, an afternoon service being conducted by the Kev. W. B. Pickering, of Christchurch. In the evening a service was taken by Mr. Campbell Lucas, Mangamaire, who is at present on vacation from, the Theological College, Auckland. On Wednesday evening the annual social was held. This was presided over by Rev. Mr. Roberts, of Pahiatua, ably assisted by Mr. H. R. Ogg. The social owned with a hymn, “Praise God from Whom All Blessings Flow,” and a prayer, following which somo jolly games were played." These were heartily entered into, the keen crispness of the evening making activity much appreciated. Amongst the games wero interspersed concert items, all of which were well received. Special pleasure was afforded by the presence of Miss D. Ccllister, of Napier, and formerly of Pahiatua, who made a welcome reappearance in vocal numbers which were much appreciated. Pianoforte solos were played by Miss Joyce Ebbett; vocal numbers, Mrs. F. C. Ebbett, Miss D. "Collister and Mr. H. R. Ogg; songs_ in unison, five juniors, Myrtle and Marjory Groves and Ruth, Kathleen, and Gracio Clark; part songs, Mrs. Ebbett (soprano), Misses Day and Sonntag (mezzo), and Mrs. Harwood and Miss Sargent (alto); elocutionary numbers, Misses Sargent, Brenda Wylie, Rita Sonntag and Myrtle Groves. Musical accompaniments were played by Mrs. H. R. Ogg. Misses R. Groves, D. Day and Joyce Ebbett. Supper was - served by the ladies who together with all others.who had assisted with the programme and in other ways, were on the motion of Mr. Roberts accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A late fall of snow covered the ground on Friday morning, the Tararuas receiving and especially thick coating. Light occasional showers of snow fell throughout the day and the wind was Keen and oiting all day Portions of the Puketoi and Ruahine ranges visible were thickly coated.
