Palmerston North Hospital Womens Auxiliary
GARDEN PARTY DISCUSSED The monthly meeting of tho Palmerston North Hospital Women's Auxiliary was held iu tho City Council chambers yesterday afternoon, Mrs. M. Aitchlson presiding. Also present were Mesdamcs A. AI. Wilson, W. M. Huntington, A. Grigor, F. Bennett, T. It. Moore, A. E. Mansford, K. A. Bottio (secretary), Misses Clark, J. McGhie and it. McLagan. Apologies were received from Mesdames W. Mouldey, J. Stone, H. Sinclair, W. H. Richardson, J. A. Nash, F. U. Murphy and Miss V. Kelly. Miss Clark reported on tho various activities of the sewing circle. Donations of books and magazines from Mesdamos J. Edwards, E. Simpsou and D. White were gratefully acknowledged. [Members decided that Mrs. Grigor (convener of tho library committee) should approach the Toe II and offer assistance in the distribution of books.
The president announced that £lO had been allotted the auxiliary from the Macarthy Trust. A letter is to bo sent to Mrs. E. M. Griggs thanking her for a donation of £1 7s (id raised from a bridge afternoon for tho Chapel fund, which now totals £2 18s (id.
Tho financial statement presented by Airs. Huntington (treasurer) was received and the accounts passed for payment.
Tentative arrangements for the garden party to be held in tho hospital grounds early next year wore discussed at length and it was decided to communicate with the various members'of the Hospital Board asking them to solicit assistance in their respective districts.
