Midnight Blaze at Public Hospital

EXCITEMENT AT DANNEVIEKE. Tho Danncvirko Firo Brigade received a call to tho public hospital at Danncvirko at midnight on Saturday night, to suppress a fire which had broken out in the men’s staff quarters in the largo wooden black detacher from the main building and situated to the rear of tho kitchen block and the operating theatre. The timely arrival of the porter, and the promptness with which the firemen responded to t-he call, prevented what might have proved a more serious outbreak, for, with the westerly wind, there was a danger of the - whole block being demolished, and also the added danger of the flames reaching tho kitchen block, the end portion of the wing being only a chain or two from the out-building.
