Pahiatua Tennis Club Ball

: On Friday night the weather .was not too kind, as it was cold and very wet. This did not stop the many dancers who attended the spring ball, organised under the auspices of the Pahiatua Lawn Tennis Club, Tho hall was in excellent order for

The committee who were in charge of tho function were Mesdames W, H. Watson, A. D. Donald, Thomson, Lovelock and the Misses Raleigh, Chatwin and B. Boyd. Mr W. Thomson, and they made their announcements by the aid of an amplifier.

Miss Jean Scott, of Palmerston North, gave a fine, exhibition of tapdancing, and a monte carlo waltz was won by Miss Valentine and partner. The hall was very prettily decorated with paper streamers and a coloured spotlight, operated by Mr Thomson, lent further brilliance to the scene and offset the splendid array of charming frocks worn by the ladies. In the supper room Mrs Goer and Miss Raleigh effected a very pretty decoration scheme, and amid these pleasant surroundings the patrons partook of a particularly tasty supper which had been provided by members of the tennis club.
