Oddfellowship

Tlio quarterly meeting of tlie Loyal Tararua Past Grands’ Lodgo was held in tlio Loyal Mangatainoka Lodge room on Tuesday evening. W.P. Bro. G. Willingham presided over a fair attendance of members. One member was installed in the Purple Degree and initiated into the Past Grands’ Lodge. P.D.G.M. Bro. Gray was elected as a member.

Some discussion ensued as a result of a notice of motion that tho lodge meet half-yearly instead of quarterly. As members considered that the ehango would bo a retrograde step, it was decided not to inako any change, and ou a voto being taken the motion was defeated.

Considerable discussion took place ou the method of judging the ritual competition and several changes, which the members considered would, be advantageous, were made.

The election of officers resulted as folows: —W.P., Bro, 11. R. Yowou; V.F., Bro. T. AV. Watts; Guardian, Bro. A. W. McQueen; AVarden, Bro. S. A. Matthews; examining officer, Bro. A. H. Gray; P.D.G.M. Conductor, Bro. L. Cooper; auditor, Bro. S. J. Matthews; trustees, Bros. J. Ross and AV. M. Morris; ritual competition judges, Bros. T. AV. AValts, L. Cooper and A. H. Gray. Bro, AVillingham tendered his resignation as secretary, and this was accepted with much regret. To fill the vacancy Bro. 11. A. Bick was elected. The newly-elected officers were duly installed, Bro. Gray, P.D.G.M., acting as -installing officer. It was decided that recognition of Bro. AVillingham's services from the inception of the lodge in 192 G till the present date be inscribed under his name on the merit board.

The lodgo thou closed, after which refreshments wore dispensed.
