Mr Gleadhill, presiding dver the conference of the Sons of Temperance at Darlington, said last election resulted in the return of a much larger number of abstainers in the House of Commons. Ho referred to the increas ing number of roadhouses where drink was available to motorists, and questioned whether this iucrcase in facilities was in conformity with the campaign for road safety.
