Mrs Norvel Speedy, of Hawke’s Bay, and Miss D. Speedy, of Palmerston North, are the guests of Miss Stevenson, of Mount Eden, Auckland. Mrs Ellingliain, of Dannevirke, passed through. Auckland last wcok on her way to Russell, where she will spend a week deep-sea fishing. Lady Russell, of Tunanui, Hawke’s Bay, accompanied by Sir Andrew Russell, will sail by tho Australian Star on April, 9 to visit England. Miss Zita Castlo and Mr J. Castle * have returned to Auckland after spending a holiday in. Palmerston North, Wellington and Napier. Miss Jocelyn Betts, of Masterton, who was participating in the Feilding polo events on Saturday, was the guest of Mrs A. Waldin, of Colyton, who also had staying with her Miss Norah Beetham, of “Towcett,” Masterton. Miss J. B. McLeod, B.Sc., who has been granted nine-months’ leave from the staff of the Palmerston North Girls’-High School to travel abroad, left Palmerston -North on Saturday for- Sydney •cn Toutc to England by the Suez route, and will sail by the Strathaird. There passed away at,- Christchurch on Saturday evening Mrs. M. Malden, relict of the late S. M. Malden, aftor a short illness. Mrs. Roy . Priest, of. Milverton avenue, Palmerston North, and Miss. E- Malden, of Taihapo,. art daughters of the dceoased lady, .other members of the family being Mr,--S Malden, Papanui,. Christchurch, Mrs. R. K. Duckworth and Mr. R. Malden,-, of Lyttelton. Mrs. Priest and Miss Malden leave for Christchurch foylayP .
