Pigs and Poultry
The Dominion Auctioneering Company reports a very large yarding of pigs at its weekly pig market held on Saturday. In conformity with the markets in other centres the prices realised for weaners and slips were a good deal lower than the prices realised at late sales, the market for weaners being in a more or less depressed condition. Ecalisations were as follow: —
Small weaners, 4s to ss; best wmaners, up to Ss; slips, 12s; stores to 21s; porkers, 25s to 335. There was an extra largo yarding of poultry, about 400 head being yarded, and prices showed in most cases a distinct rise on late realisations. Prices were as follow: —
White liens, 3s to 4s; black hens, 4s Od to 0s; cockerels, 5s to 7s; ducks, 2s Sd to Os; pullets, 8s to 15s (all prices being per pair). .
