POTATO MARKET STRONG LITTLE CHANGE IN OTHER LINES ASSOCIATION POTATOES APPRE CIATED POTATOES: Outside centres have been quick to appreciate the value of the Potato Growers’ Association tags system. "Observer” had the pleasure of being shown by a Palmerston North merchant two telegrams, specifying “tagged” potatoes for delivery to Hamilton and Auckland; also a letter from Taranaki congratulating this district upon the enterprise shown in forming tho association, and so giving our potatoes a standing they have hitherto lacked —“Tags have put your potatoes 'on the map,’ and this will inevitably meaa better prices.” Growers arc now receiving £6 to £6 10s a ton o.t. Manawatu for Buttons. A strong inquiry has set in and Mauawatu potatoes aro being railed to Taranaki, Auckland, and oven up to Wliaugarei. There has also been inquiry from Gisborne. Southern merchants report Auckland inquiry for "unripe” potatoes for April shipment. It is believed that a parcel is going north next week, shipped at £5 5s f.o.b. Lyttelton. The local crops are not yielding heavily, but the sample is good. Poorer qualities thau firsts are in no great demaud. ONIONS: Local lines are now coming forward. They are of very sound quality, well ripened by wind, despite rains and Jack of sunshine. Good lines are making up to £6 10s o.t. OTHER PRODUCE: Unchanged from last week.
