Current quotations arc as follow, those for the previous week being shown in parentheses:— Butter. Danish, 118 s (USs). Choicest salted: New Zealand, S3s (80s to 81s); Australian, S3s (SOs to Sis). Unsalted: New Zealand, S4s to 85s (S4s to SOs); Australian, 3s to 84s (82s to 84s). Cheese.—New Zealand: While, 49s Gd to 50s (49s to 50s); coloured, 51s to 52s (51s Od to 525). Australian: White, 48s Gd to 49s (4Ss); coloured, 49s 6d to 50s (49s 6d). Comparison Table Butter —N.Z. choicest salted: This week .. .. S3/-. Last week .. .. SO/- to SI/-. A month ago ... 89/-. A year ago . .. 76/-. 83/- equals 9.51 d lb butter-fat payout. Cheese—N.Z. coloured: This week .. .. 51/- to 52/-. Last week .. .. 51/6 to 52/-. A month ago . .. 54/- to 55/-. A year ago . .. 47/6. 51/6 equals 10.92 d lb butter-fat payout. Comment During the past week the dairy produce market in Loudon has been very unsettled. At mid-week quotations for both butter and cheese were even lower than those for last week-end; since then they have more than recovered. It is likely that further improvement will be made.
