A Laud of Artificial Flowers

Paris has always been the land of artificial flowers, but never before have been seen such out-of-the-way fabrics for their making as thin season. Lace, linen, pique and organdie are used for the most fashionable ornamental flowers nowadays, and, although the materials are uncommon, the same careful study of flower shapes which characterised the old-fashioned flowers, is evident. Daisies, camellias, roses and gardenias with their assorted leaves in the same white fabric, are the most popular. For the evenings, gaily coloured organdie flowers have replaced the naturally tinted velvet ones, in which the chief aim of the makers was to imitate Nature’s colourings as exactly as she copied the shapes.

Flowers- will bloom on date autumn and early winter frocks. Paris puts flowers at the neck of dresses, on the shoulders and at the waistline. They will also be seen in the hair and garnishing mulls.
