Front Our Own Correspondent. The harvest thanksgiving services.were held on Sunday lasL in the Alethodist Church, tho afternoon service being conducted by Air. C. Woodley, of Palmerston North, and tile evening service by Rev. C. A. Foston. Aliss AI. Aiaddison presided at the organ at the arternoon service and Mr. C. F. Wagstaff in the evening. There was an excellent’display of vegetables.and fruit which were sold on the following evening at a social held in the i hall. There was a good attendance and the very satisfactory sum of £ls 11s was realised. The ladies of the congregation served an eycelient supper. A meeting of the Pobangina Valley Ping Pong Club was held recently, Mr. A. E. Orgias being in the chair. Tho balance-sheet and annual report were presented by tho secretary and showed that a successful season had been enjoyed. The following officers were elected:— Patron, .Mr. W. Howell, senr.: president. Air. A. E. Orgias; vice-president, Air. J. D. Galvin; secretary, Mr. T. A. Turnbull; treasurer, Mr. S. G. Craven. Ather members of tho committee were AUsses At. Harland and J. Sinclair. Delegates appointed to attend the annual meeting of the Alandwatu Table Tennis Association wero Alessrs T. A. Turnbull and S.-Gra-ven Tlie report on the cuClite and ping pong tournament proved most satisfactory. The functions had been, well" attended and it was evident that cards; and ping pong had proved a very popular form of entertainment. It was decided to run a series again this year, the)first to be held on Alay 15, and to be continued fortnightly.
