Oroua Downs

From Our Own Correspondent, At the annual meeting of tho Oroua Downs Golf Club Air. E. Gonlan presided over a good attendance of those interested The balance-sheet showing a balance of X 6, together with the report, was adopted. The following officers were elected for the coming year:—President, Air. J. Connell; captain, Air. A. T. Nichols; secretary, Air. R. A. Nichols (reelected); committee, Alessrs J. Neale and E. Gonlan and Alesdames A. T. Nichols and F. C. Parkes, together with the president, captain and secretary. Air. F. A. JXiils was reappointed auditor. A motion of sympathy was’ passed to Mrs. Raikes, while it was decided that the late Air. L. K. Alolfat’s services to the club be placed on record. It was decided to build a club house, the official opening day to be held when the club house is completed. A cup donated by Colllnson and Son was shown to those present, who expressed their appreciation of the gift. The president •thanked Air. and Airs. A. T. Nichols for all they had done for the club during the past season. • .At the annual meeting of the local W.E.A. Airs Raikes was in the chair. Air. J.- Hall was appointed leader for the coming, year, whilo Aliss L. Fromm was appointed secretary. It Was decided that the meetings be held weekly in the future and that appreciation of the services of Mrs. Raikes and Alias J. Oyston be placed on record.
