From Our Own Correspondent Table Tennis. The annual meeting of the Table Tennis Club was held recently when Air. D. Rowland presided over a fair attendance of members. The report was as roilows:— "The club concluded its fourth year with a satisfactory balance of 22s 9d. Two teams had entered in the Alanawatu B grade competition. The A team had won one game and lost five In the first round, while the B team had been more successful by winning live, drawing one and losing one. The record of the second round had been misplaced so could not be recorded. The committee wishes to convey thanks to the iady members who so willingly helped the club in many ways, and to supporters of the club who also helped In various- ways. Thanks wore also due to ear owners who so generously provided transport for the teams, and to the hall committee for the generous reduction in the cost of hall hire.” The new committee elected was:— Messrs S. Rowland (club captain), W. Weddell (re-elected secretary), 1. Parkinson, R. Rowland, W. Johnston, Aliases L. and J. Hearsey and At. Rowland. Air. D. Rowland was re-elected president and Alessrs Af. Richardson and G. James vicepresidents. It was decided to hold a practice every Thursday evening. Personal. Mrs. Croueher, senr., and. Aliss Joan Crouclier, of Wellington, are the guests of Air. and Mrs. N. P. Nielsen. All*. AV. Fell recently took advantage of the Airways service liner to pay a short visit to the South Island. Aliss Kath. Walker lias returned from a lengthy stay with friends at Alastcrton. General. Approximately 11 cords of wood were cut from the tree which fell in the school grounds during the recent gale. Just as the work was nearing completion Air. Gibbons, who was engaged in the work, suffered a nasty gash on his leg from an iron wedge which suddenly became dislodged.
