Aero Golf Club Elects Officers
PLAY AT AWAPUNI UNTIL ’DROME COURSE READY.
Air G. G. Haiicox (president) was in the chair at the atinual meeting of tho Aero Golf Club, held last ovening. There was a good attendance of members and a number of apologies were tendered on behalf of others unable to be present. Report and Balance Sheet.
The president’s report was as follows:—“During the early part of the season the eourso was not in very good order and your eommittco undertook to spend a small sum in assisting with the necessary improvements. The membership list included 53 names. The best thanks of the club aro extended to Alessrs Rosco, Pink and. Collinson, G. 11. Bennett, and Nimmo and Son, for their generosity in donating trophies. The June 3rd tournament was most en-. joyable, also tho inter-club matches with Shannon and To Alatai. The best thanks of members are due to the ladies’ committee for their work, which had contributed so much to the success of the season.”
Tho statement submitted by Air E. G. Bennett (treasurer) disclosed tho fact that the season’s work had resulted in a slight increase in the balance with which the season had started. The treasurer of tho Ladies’ Club (Airs Walker) reported that they, also, had increased the credit balance by over £3. Airs Walker explained that if it had not been for the co-operation of tho ladies’ committee they could not have conic out on the right side of the ledger. Aloviug that the treasurer’s statements be adopted, the president thanked tho ladies for their work during the past season. The statements were adopted without discussion. Election of Officers. Officers were elected as follow: President, Air G. G. Hancox; club captain, Mr H. Stallaud; kandicappers, Alessrs Stallaud (convener), 11. Robson, and J. Child; secretary and treasurer, Air E. G. Bennett; committee, the above officers and Air G. Houston; ladies’ committee, Alesdames Walker and Hancox (convener), Alisses Harwood, Gaustad, and Higgins; auditor, Mr A. G. Richards (subject to his consent). , Votes of thanks wero accorded the retiring officers, particularly Alessrs Ball (secretary) and AlcAvoy (handicapper). General Business. The president reported that he had been advised that the ’dromo course would not be in a fit condition for play this year, but that the proprietor of the Awapuni course had been approached and he had agreed to accommodate the club through with a restriction as to the number of players. It was resolved to adopt the Awapuni proposition and the committee was authorised to conclude arrangements. In view of the fact that the Awapuni course might not be convenient for some of tlio members, it was resolved that the club institute a nominal subscription of half a crown for noil-playing members. Opening day was fixed for Saturday week (Alarcb 2S) with a Canadian foursome and members intending to play at Awapuni are requested to advise the secretary not later than next. Wednesday.
