Feilding Agricultural High School

VISIT TO DANNEVIRKE. Yesterday tennis and cricket teams from the Feilding Agricultural High School travelled to Danncvirke and played friendly games against the local district high school. At tennis the local girls won by II sets to one, and in the cricket match Danncvirke won by six wickets.

Batting first Feilding made 64, the highest scorer being Mr. Extras with 11, while the first four bats supplied six apiece. Danncvirke replied with 96, and with no wickets down for 40, Feilding tried a change in tho bonding, with the result that Wells, mi., captured seven wickets for 23 runs. Armstrong 15 and Sink 30 were the opening bats and proved difficult to shift. Wickets fell after Wells, mi., got going, but the Dannevirke tail wagged, with Askew supplying 30 not out. Feilding’s second innings produced 67 (Wells, mi., 2S, Hollard 12). Requiring 36 to win, Dannevirke were well., on the way with no wickets for 30 when Feilding put on a change bowler in Wells, ma, whose first three balls captured wickets, doing the hat trick. Dannevirke secured the necessary runs—namely, 36, for the loss of four wickets. The Feilding teams were most hospitably entertained and spent a very enjoyable day. The party was under the charge of Mr. C. B. McClure.
