PAHIATUA RETAIN BYRNE CUP During the week-end Pahiatua Bowling Club successfully defended its right to retain the coveted Byrno cup when they engaged Dannevirke players on the Pahiatua greens. The rinks were:—Murphy, Carrad, Petersen and A. Bisset (skip) 20, beat Davis, Web ley, Cole and Tatare (skip) 19. Dannevirke, after losing the first head, took several in succession, and although Pahiatua scored an odd one or two, it was not until the gamo was nearly finished that they mado up the lead. Dannevirke, after losing the lead, drew on terms at tho 20th head, where the scores were 19-all. The last head went in favour of Bisset’s men, who thus retained tho cup by one point, a similar margin to that which they took the cup away with in the last game with Dannevirke.
