Young Man Drowned in Dam
TRAGEDY REPORTED FROM SANSON A drowning tragedy surrounded by unusual circumstances is reported from Sanson. The victim is Lawrence Denzil Sanson, aged 21 years, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Sanson, of Sanson, and employed by Mr. Colin Lawrence for the last eight months. . Deceased left the farm on Friday afternoon for O/aki, which place he left at 7.30 o'clock on Sunday night on the return journey. His atisoncc over the week-ond did net alarm his employer ns deceased had been away on other occasions. However, when Mr. Lawrence arrived home himself about midnight on Sunday he saw Sanson's shoes at the back door and concluded that he had gone to his room and was in bed. In the morning deceased did not appear and an investigation revealed that his bed had not been slept in. A search was made and his body was recovered from a dam on the property, fullydressed except for shoes. Where deceased was lying there was only about 18 inches of water. The body was taken to Bulls, where an inquest will be held to-day.
