Dates Fixed for Spring Show in Manawatu
TE AUTE MATCH AGAIN SECURED FOR WINTER FIXTURE
The general committeo of tho Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association met yesterday, Mr J. Batcholar presiding. Mr A. C. B. Munro, of Taihape, was welcomed back to the meeting after his illness.
Mr James Knight was thanked for a donation of £3 of his prize money. Tho meetiug passed a resolution confirming November 4, 5 and G asthe dates for the spring show. The secretary said that tho Christchurch show would be on November 12 and 13, so that the dates agreed on for Manawatu were in the ordinary sequence. Tho Feilding A. and P. Association expressed its sympathy in tho heavy loss experienced by Manawatu on account of tho storm. It was decided to express appreciation of the action of the Manawatu Rugby Union in authorising tho Te Aute-Palmerston North High School match for this year, on a basis of the union accepting 10 per cent, of takings, without tho customary annual grant of £SO. Uncertain Future Tho secretary (Mr 11. E. Kissling) said that from the association’s point of view it had not been deemed wise to conclude an agreement for more than one year, owing to the doubt surrounding the future pilaus of the association for its own activities. The action of the union was described as a graceful one. Twenty new members were elected and several resignations accepted. The secretary read a draft of the report to be given by the general committee to the annual meeting of the association. This report was confirmed for preparation. Tho following wero elected as vicepresidents: Messrs J. Ilodgens, M.P., 11. Voss, W. J. Blundell, A. E. Mansford, J. F. Knight and J. A. Russell.
