Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on the Feilding sale held on Friday last, when a full yarding of sheep came forward, all sections being well represented, which met an exceedingly strong tone, particularly for breeding ewes. These lines showing quality were keenly competed for, while tho few less attractive lines, which usually form tho majority of the offerings at this season, were taken readily at good prices in relation to their quality. The market for fat sheep, as with fat cattle, barely maintained the prices of the previous week. Store cattle sold with a firm tone, there being a large entry, principally grown bullocks; prior to this yardings have been exceedingly light in this section. Quotations: —Fat ewes, 15s lOd, 16s, 16s Id, 16s 9d, 17s Id; fat b.f. 2-ths., 22s 2d, 22s 6d; fat wethers, 21s 9d; 4year ewes, 28s; 5-year ewes, 23s 9d; 2th. ewes, 30s, 31s 6d, 35s 6d; 2 and 4th. ewes, 27s 6d, 28s 6d; woolly w.f. lambs, 12s 9d; shorn w.f. lambs, 13s 9d; shorn b.f. lambs, 12s 6d, 12s 9d, 16s 3d, 17s; 1-shear S.D. rams, 2 to sgns; 1-shear Romney rams, Signs. Messrs Abraham and Williams Ltd., report another large yarding of sheep and cattle at last Friday’s Feilding sale. Some splendid lines of ewes of all ages were submitted and for these the inquiry was exceptionally keen, it being quite apparent that there are still a number of farmers who have not so far filled their requirements. Good reliable lines of hill ewes sold well up to values realised at the ewe fair. There was also a g6od yarding of both black-face and Romney wether lambs, and hero again the market was surprisingly strong for forward sorts, this being partly duo to tho fact of weather conditions being in favour of fattening. Tho store cattle section was. represented with just average quality, consequently the sale in this department was not of a buoyant nature. Just a fair sale resulted for beef, tho market if anything showing an casing tendency. Quotations: —4-ycar ewes: Account * 31. Sutton, Kimbolton, 30s 3d; account Jas.
