Carrying a party of scientists and botanists the Joseph Conrad, the only British full-rigged sailing ship afloat, which arrived in Melbouruo last week after sailing round the world on the. route of Cook’s Endeavour, will leave at the end of the week on a mysterious Pacific cruise. Mr A. J. Villiors, owner-master of tho little vessel, said to-day ho was sailing - under sealed orders and would not know his destination till at sea. It is believed ths erulso includes Auckland and also that the intention is to seek gold on certain Pacific islands.
