At the technological examinations held in Palmerston North in November, N. Dickson and F. G. Withers passed in the minor courso for motor mechanics.
The first passenger to book for a trip to Dunedin by air-liner is Mr J. Linklater. Mrs (Summers, of Milson, was second. They leave next Thursday morning.
A motion of sympathy in his recent accident and best .wishes for his speedy return to normal health was passed to Mr W. G. Black (a vice-president) at the anriuui general meeting of the Palmrston North Horticultural .Society held in the city last evening.
Although only a small section of the public realises the fact, the Magistrate's Court at Palmerston North virtually holds a session every week-day m the year. Apparently the New Ycur period has not yet concluded for the usual lengthy Monday sitting did not eventuate yesterday.
It is possible that, with the advent of the trunk air service from the city to Dunedin, some enterprising person will find a method of utilising roof-tops for bringing tho value of his wares before the air-minded people of New Zealand. Better still, many will probably not be so neglectful of the appearance of roofs under the birds' eye view; some coverings being an eyesore m a progressive city like Palmerston North.
