AN OFFICIAL RETURN. LONDON, Jau. 12. The Registrar-General’s return, just published, estimates the population of England and Wales in the middle of 1933 at 40,350,000, of whom 19,357,000 were males and 20,993,000 females. Marriages during 1933 totalled 315,191, an increase of about 11,000 over 1932. Live births totalled 580,413, or .3iL559 fewer ifchas.jfl .193'
