Wreckage of Schooner Hermes Found
WORST FEARS CONFIRMED.

SYDNEY, Jan. 8.
A Rabaul message says that the first definite result from the seareh for the missing schooner Hermes was obtained when the steamer Friderun returned to Rabaul with the top of the table, whip' had been found on Unea Island.
The Administrator of New Guinea said there was no doubt that the table top was the one that was secured to the superstructure of the Hermes.
A message from Rabaul received in Sydney on November 26 said that anxiety was felt for the safety of the Af ministration's schooner Hermes, which was considerably overdue from Madang with three whites and seventeen natives aboard.
A message from Canberra on December 3 stated that not a trace had been found of the schooner Hermes. The Administrator of New Guinea feared the worst, as a search by three vessels had proved fruitless.
