Production of Steel in Lincolnshire

The growth of steel production at Seunthorp, in Lincolnshire, close to au ironstone field estimated to contain about 4(>S,01)0,000 tons, has resulted in an increase of employment iu the district of 51 per cent, in the last five years. The local works arc producing steel at a rate of 1,000,000 tons per annum, representing about 10 per cent, of tho national production. The output has doubled in the last three years and the production of pig iron has risen correspondingly. The population of thn district is rising rapidly, and last yeat 2000 new houses were erected.
