Boxer Alleged to Have Broken Contract

Air Justice Nicholas to-day granted an application by Charles Lucas, a boxing promoter, for a writ of care directed against tho Dutch boxer, Bcp Van Klavcren, who, it was alleged, was leaving by tho Mariposa for America to-day. It i ’cpoilc-d that Klavcren, accompanied by his wife, was escorted ashore a few minutes before the Mariposa sailed.
The application arose out of a writ for £2OOO issued by Lucas against Klavcren for alleged breach of contract, Lucas stating that Klavcren had agreed to take part in live more lights. Lucas further alleged that Klavcren’s wife had said: “I am homesick and that is all there is about it.”
John Adolphus Clark, who claims to have been Klavcren’s manager in Australia, is also bringing an action for £172 damages.
