800 New Entrants For Training Colleges

NO DEARTH OF APPLICANTS Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. The Education Hoard has been advised by the Education Department that 800 new entrants will be admitted to the four training colleges next year. It is anticipated that the Gtugo quota will be increased from 51 to 7-1. lu addition to graduates and those with a qualifying pass in the training college entrance examination, applications will be received from holders of higher leaving certiiieatcs or of a credit pass in the university entrance scholarship examination. It is anticipated that there will be no dearth of applicants now that tho door is open to holders of higher leaving certiticates without having the training college entrance examination. The increasing of tho bursary to £7O per annum and the restoration of the lodging allowance of £3O per annum will be an additional attraction. v
