KIMBERLEY. This meeting took the form of a Scotch afternoon. Features of the afternoon were “the mock piping in of the ’haggis,” by Piper Frew; a Scotch elocutionary item (“Bairnies Cuddle Doon”) and a story without words, “Alisdemeanors of Arother.” The demonstration was for dressing poultry for the’ table, followed by an appropriate song, “Song of the Egg.” The competition was for shortbread and a Scotswoman present gavo the recipe for real Scotch shortbread. BALLANCE. ■Tho November meeting was presided over by Airs AlcKenzie, who' welcomed all members and visitors including one new member. Arrangements were made to send a Christinas hamper to 1 the Porirua Aluntai Hospital, also a donation to the Children’s Health Camp fund. Airs C. Holdaway gave an excellent report on the half-yearly council meeting held at Hamua. The demonstration was cake icing by Airs Cavanagh and was watched with keenness. The competition for fancy work and knitting was keenly contested for some beautiful work beiftg shown, Airs Day came first for the fancy knitting and Airs Bryant second. Plain knitting, Mrs Day 1, with Aliss Bremner 2; fancy work, Airs McKenzie 1, Airs A. Tait 2. The hostesses’ competition was won by Aliss Cooper. The hostesses lor tho afternoon were Alesdaines Parry, Cooper and Cappell. Tho singing of God Save the King brought an enjoyable afternoon to a close.
