In the P.D.C.-United game, P.D.C. batted first and they found runs hard to get against the steady bowling aud excellent fielding by United. When tho innings (nine wickets) closed tho total was 155, Brace and Spiers, who batted very solidly, getting most of the runs, Umtod lost two quick wickets but j. Gallicb.au and P. Combined Services Win Just on Time. Batting first Optimists, thanks to a great stand by Hicken and Elliott, knocked up the respectable total of 190 and the game appeared safe. Combined Services, however, went for the run 3 aud they got them just before time, Wilson, Wheatley, Millar and Myers all batting well. Optimists won the toss and after one wicket had gone for 4 Hicken and Elliot became associated in a fruitful partnership which added 94 for the second wicket. Millar, who was very aggressive, then joinod Wilson, who, batting very freely, was scoring with nice shots ail round the wicket. J. O’Connell caught Wilson in two minds when the total was 140 but when Wilson departed victory was in sight. Wilson knocked up 70, including 13 four 3 and it was a very line innings. Millar then took up tho role of run-getter and Ueaphy and then Myers assisted him to knock up enough to head Optimists’ total, Millar and Myers being together when the match was won.
