Blomfield and Jaget Singh Wrestle a Draw
Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Oct. 21. Lofty Blomfieia (16st. 51b.) of New Zealand and Jaget Singh (16st.) of India wrestled a draw last night. Singh gained a fall iu the third round with his famous Indian deathi'oek and Blomfield in the seventh round with a sharp-ly-applied body press following a series of buttings. The bout was entertaining in that both wrestlers were adepts, at showmanship. At one stage the public were treated to the spectacle of Blomfield trying to ape the Indian and conquer him with his own favourite deathlock.
Cestoldi Beats Andresen WELLINGTON, Last Night. Eight rounds of fast, entertaining wrestling to-night ended with Angelo Cestoi’dL limp and face downward on tho mat, but with the referee raising one of his hands in token of victory. Cestoldi had gained a fall over Ole Andresen iu the sixth round, and in the last withstood a full leg Nelson for some minutes till saved by the gong.
