An enjoyable dance was held by the Palmerston North Lawn Tennis Glub at Aliss ,;Gwen Gibbs’s studio. Extras were played by Aliss E. Andrews and Air. C. C. Yates. The decorations of the studio had been carried out by a men’s committee, and a committee of ladies attended capably to other arrangements.

At the annual meeting of the Women’s Round Table Ciub on Alonday ev’cning a warm welcomo was extended to Aliss. C. Warburton on her return from a visit overseas by the newly elected president, Aliss gerald, Miss Warburton agreed to give her impression of her trip at a later date. . <•

It is reported from overseas that Lady Alice Scott.will probably have eight bridesmaids, for her marriage to the Duke of Gloucester, of whom the youngest, aged five, will be. Princess Alargaret Rose making her debut as a bridesmaid. Princess Juliana will be another one, and her appropriate gift will probably be paintings of the Highlands. Last year’s wedding provided a £20,000,000 fiilup to trade. ' •
