October Meeting of Willard Home Board

Airs. E. A. Collins presided over the October meeting of tho .Willard Home Board on Monday. Those present were Mesdames G. H. Bennett, C. Greig, D. J. Lovelock, T. R. Hodder, K. McDonald, C. F. S-podner, A. W. Just, A. Andrews, R. Port, J. Polnton, Purvis, E. A. Birdsall (secretary) and Miss McLa’gan. Apologies for absence were received from Alesdames E. C. Barnett, B. Jennings, E. G. Bennett and J. W. McConnon.

A motion of sympathy with Airs. T. Russell iu tho loss of her husband was passed in silence.

Authority was received from the City Council to change the badge day from November 8 to November 21. Tho day is held for the purpose of raising funds for the children's annual beach'holiday. - The Rongotea Women’s Institute sent in £lO, the proceeds from a concert conducted with the help of the ‘‘Ford Entertainers.” The Aianawatu Scottish Society "iso contributed £2 iOs to the funds.

Tho matron’s report stated that the walls of the home had been papered, and this had made a decided improvement in the general appearance of the building. The health of the children was excellent, and the president and the secretary, who had visited the home, were very pleased with the conditions prevailing. Accounts passed for payment amounted to £l3 2s lid. ■ The committee were rem.nded that the doll competition would be drawn on November 30 at the home. It was resolved to hold a special meeting on November 5 to decide the final arrangements for badge day.
