The St. Chad’s (Longburn) Girjs’ Club held their annual banquet in the Anglican Church social room on Friday night. Ilev. F. O. Ball presided and those ■ present, numbering about 40, spent a most enjoyabhVevening. Mr Ball calied on 'Air D. Rowland-to propose tho. toast to the Girls’ Club. Aliss Joan Campbell replied. Other toasts were: “Tlie Lads,” Aliss H. liillr —Air C. Sliirrlffs; “Old Girls,’-’ Aliss J. Shirriffs —Aliss .O. Rowland. Air Ball then' amused tho company with a number of humorous stories, 1 and- items wero given by the following: Song, Misses Rowland arid'Messrs It., S. and V. Rowland; vocal duet, Aliss Bird and Mr. O, Shirrifis; song, Aliss Birch; recitation, Air H. Bowler; song, Air C. Shirriffs. The companiments wero, played by Alisses Birch and Rowland. ' Later tho floor was cleared- for dancing and competitions, the winners of, tho -latter being Alls,s’ Birch and Messrs E. Jewell arid S. Rowland.
